Implementation Guideline
- A publication listing messages that are in use in a particular
industry, or a particular application, and indicating how the
information in those messages should be presented. A good implementation
guideline will do this on a segment by segment, and data element
by data element basis, indicating which segment and data element
is needed, which ones need not be used, and what code values
will be expected in the application of that particular message.
Integration - Connecting hardware and/or software
components from more than one system so that they operate as
if part of a single system. In B2B, it typically means components
from more than one company or organization.
Internet - A worldwide system for linking computer
networks of every size together.
Internet Service Provider (ISP) - Interface
between network providers and dial-up customers, using routers
and servers to handle network demand. An example of an ISP is
America Online.
Inventory - Raw materials, component parts
and items available for sale or in the process of being manufactured.
