Trailer Load (TL)
- When a shipment completely fill up the back of a truck or
carrier.
Thermal Printer - A type of printer that uses
heat as a means of transferring ink to the media source. Thermal
printers are the recognized industry standard for printing UCC128
barcode labels, as they ensure the ink on the labels will survive
the elements of transport (i.e.: friction).
Trading Partner (TP) - Any organization with
whom another organization has business dealings, e.g. supplier,
customer, distributor. Also, the sending and/or receiving parties
involved in exchanging electronic business messages.
Trading Partner Agreement (TPA) - Agreement
between trading partners that defines agreed Electronic Commerce
interactions and communication procedures, such as transport
protocols and the business processes, business messages and
standards that will be used.
Trailer - The truck unit into which freight
is loaded as in tractor trail combination.
Trailer Number - This number is assigned by
the carrier/trucker. It is the number of the tuck onto which
the shipment is being loaded. Normally assigned at the time
the truck pulls into the dock.
Transaction Set - A single document type, such
as an Invoice or Purchase Order. The phrases Transaction Set
and Document Type are often used interchangeably. Transmission
- All the data to be transmitted between one user and another,
or one user and the VAN.
Turn Around Documents - Terminology used by
EDI applications that refers to the ability to take an existing
document in the application and create a related document with
little or no entry of data. A common example is the ability
to create an Invoice from an existing Purchase Order, signifies
the Invoice as being a Turn Around Document.
