Validation
- Process used to ensure that a transmission complies with a
given standard's syntax rules.
Value Added Network (VAN) - A privately managed
network that is used to securely transfer data files between
two companies. These networks are associated with traditional
EDI.
Voluntary Inter-Industry Communications Standard (VICS)
- A standard for EDI documents developed specifically for the
Retail industry.
